West Columbia Gorge Humane Society Daisy Fundraiser Monday, December 5th

Driving Miss Daisy Fundraiser Monday, December 5th, 2011 at TwilightDaisy is an amazing little pup who leaves an impression on the hearts of everyone who meets her at West Columbia Gorge Humane Society (http://www NULL.wcghumanesociety NULL.org/). Daisy has been fostered at my home as well, briefly, and I can tell you firsthand that this little sweetheart pulls at your heartstrings like a symphony cello player!

Daisy did not receive the care she needed after an injury when she was just a pup, and now that she’s in the good hands of the very competent and compassionate volunteers at the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society, she is finally getting the surgery she needs so that she can run and play like all the other dogs and will no longer be in pain. But this surgery is expensive, and like all other charities these days, WCGHS’s funding has been severely cut.

Twilight is a CAN DO kind of organization, and we know that our Twilight Friends are a kind and compassionate group! So this Monday, December 5th, we’re doing a fundraiser for Daisy. 10% of the day’s proceeds will go directly to Daisy’s surgery. And you can meet Cubby O’Brien (http://cubbyobrien NULL.com/biography/), one of the original Mouseketeers, a dedicated WCGHS volunteer, and a man who’s had some amazing experiences in his long career in music and entertainment in Hollywood and New York. Cubby will be sharing stories, taking pictures with guests, and signing autographs. We’ll be selling $5 raffle tickets, of which 100% of proceeds go to Daisy’s surgery fund.  There will be two raffle winners–one to receive a basket full of fantastic wine, and another to receive a $50 Twilight gift certificate! We’ll also have a few other surprises and goodies for those attending!

For those unable to attend the fundraiser but would like to contribute, please visit the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society’s website, where a link will be posted for donations to contribute to Daisy’s surgery.

Friday, 11-11-11, or 5.50 x 2

It being 11-11-11 seems reason enough for us to celebrate! So this Friday, all of our Small Vineyards Italian wines will be just $5.50 a glass. And since it’s 11-11-11, have two glasses at $5.50 and make 11 your lucky number! (Cannot be combined with other discount offers, including happy hour.)

(It’s also NIGEL TUFNEL DAY. Because his amp goes up to 11.)

Veterans Day Weekend

Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities…because it is the quality which guarantees all others. ~Winston Churchill

As a thank you to the men and women who have bravely served, this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, all veterans and active duty military personnel will receive a 25% discount at Twilight, in uniform or with other proof of service.

(By the way, active duty military always receive a 20% discount at Twilight!)

A Big Thanks to our Twilight Friends

We want to extend our most sincere thanks to everyone who donated to the staples drive for the Children’s Center. The center’s conference room was filled with bags donated by our Twilight Friends. It was a beautiful sight! Twilight also donated $250 of groceries and personal care staples to the center.

The winners of the donor appreciation goody baskets were Carolyn W. and Nancy S. Many thanks to all of you for your generosity! You have made a tremendous difference in the lives of the children served by this amazing agency.
